Zorak Robert Jones is a Dokarian, also known as a giant space mantis. Zorak was the leader of an army of space warriors called the Zorathian. He was one of Space Ghost's greatest enemies, and later became part of the cast of his talk show. According to him, he is the locust of the apocalypse; it was later corrected to mantis of the apocalypse. He was a member of the Council of Doom.

Physical Appearance[]

Zorak is a green mantis with a beak. He is hunched over. Zorak usually wears a blue or vermillion vest with a speedo. His wings are either black or blue. He wears yellow or blue gloves and boots. Zorak sometimes wears blue gloves and socks.

In the Space Ghost Miniseries, Zorak is more monstrous-looking. He wears a gray shell and has four arms. Zorak also has tattoos.

In Jellystone!, Zorak originally had four fingers in the 2nd season, but switched to three fingers in the third season.

In the Dynamite comic, Zorak's design is more close to the original cartoon design. However, Zorak has heterochromia eyes and has a spike on his hunched back. One of his antennas is torn off. When Zorak returns, he is shown to have gotten a scar near his left eye.

Biography[]

Space Ghost[]

Zorak escaped from prison with the help of some other Zorathians in order to get revenge on Space Ghost. He captured Jan and Jace, forcing Space Ghost to come and rescue them whilst performing dangerous tasks. Space Ghost successfully did so, recapturing Zorak in the process. (Space Ghost: Zorak).

Zorak had his scientist create a robot called Titanor. (Space Ghost: The Challenge).

He joined the Council of Doom. (Space Ghost: The Meeting).

Space Ghost Coast to Coast[]

Space Ghost arrested Zorak and forced him to form The Original Way Outs. He deeply hates Space Ghost and often tries to ruin his show as a result and constantly criticizes Space Ghost for forcing him to be there. Whenever Zorak acts rude towards him or the guests, Space Ghost also will blast him for it as punishment. He gets along much better with Moltar since he also hates Space Ghost but Zorak in particular doesn't care for him either, despite what Moltar may think.

The Brak Show[]

Zorak attended Learnmore High School with his friend Brak. Zorak was a bad influence on Brak, leading him to mischief. In reality, he was a 40 year old alien mantis who was posing as a high school student. Zorak continued his usual brand of sadism. Zorak also tended to disrespect Thundercleese's property, despite Thundercleese's protectiveness of it.

Zorak was often interested in Brak's Mom.

Space Ghost 2005 miniseries[]

Zorak, is portrayed as a more monstrous being who is the head of a hive mind.

Space Ghost Vol. 1 (Dynamite Entertainment)[]

Zorak is portrayed as a cult leader. He is the leader of The Cult of Lokar. This version is more of a Charles Manson-esque killer. He summons Lokar to destroy everything. Zorak appeared to be fatally shot by Jace when he fell into the portal. (Space Ghost Vol. 1 #5 (September 2024)) However, it is revealed that Zorak survived and returns to his home dimension to enact revenge on Space Ghost. (Space Ghost Vol. 1 #10 (February 2025)) Zorak joined the Council of Doom after accepting a deal from Dr. Xander Ibal. (Space Ghost Vol. 1 #11 (February 2025)) The Council of Doom are defeated and are sent back to prison. (Space Ghost Annual (July 2025))

Cartoon Planet (2012)[]

Zorak and Brak are roommates in their own apartment[1], where they hosted the revival of Cartoon Planet. Though he mainly served as a foil to Brak and his bizarre behavior, Zorak occasionally hosted reviews for the video games he played.

Perfect Hair Forever[]

Zorak appeared alongside Space Ghost in Coast to Coast's old studio, seemingly accepting his irrelevance in contrast to Space Ghost lamenting Adult Swim's lack of interest in continued partnership (Perfect Hair Forever: Muscular Distraction - A and Muscular Distraction - B).

Jellystone![]

Zorak first appeared in the season two episode "It's a Mad Mad Mad Rat Race". He was a prisoner at Santo Relaxo in the episode "Jailcation". He appears in the third season episode "Space Con" in which Zorak initially disguised himself as Gravity Girl. Zorak and Brak are a lot more affectionate towards each other in this series.

  • Zorak was originally going to be named Torak and Korak. At one point, Zorak was originally going to be called Tazang.[2]
    • The name Torak was referenced in the Space Ghost Coast to Coast comic story "Who Voo-Dooed It?"
    • The name Korak was used in the Worldvision Home Video release of Space Ghost.
  • Zorak was originally going to have green eyes according to the model sheet.
