Space Ghost was the first television series based on the universe of Space Ghost. The series had a back-up segment Dino Boy in the Lost Valley.
The show was later known as Space Ghost and Dino Boy to avoid confusion with Space Ghost Coast to Coast, as well as to acknowledge both Space Ghost and Dino Boy in the Lost Valley. Unlike Space Ghost Coast to Coast, the original Space Ghost was a serious superhero/science fiction action series.
Cartoon Roulette, which aired in the early years of Toonami, featured episodes of Space Ghost along with Birdman and the Galaxy Trio, The Herculoids, Mighty Mightor, Shazzan, Teen Force, The Impossibles, and the Superman cartoons made by Fleischer and Famous Studios.
Several episodes of both Space Ghost and Dino Boy in the Lost Valley were released on VHS by Worldvision Home Video in the 1980s. Space Ghost & Dino Boy: The Complete Series was released on DVD in Region 1 on July 17, 2007. A Blu-ray version was released on October 13, 2020.
